aus: The Big Bang Theory S05E07– The Good Guy Fluctuation

Sheldon: All right, all right. I see what’s going on. A little pre-Halloween hijinkery. A ghostly moan, a rattling of chains, a witch’s cackle. The trifecta
of haunted house clichés. Instead of “Eek,” I say, “Yawn.”

hijinkery -- (n.) -- The appropriate, plural form of on-going hijinks. One may commit a hijink, but one participates in hijinkery.
hijinks (auch “high jinks”): ausgelassener Spaß.

Andere Begriffe:
trifecta -- Hattrick, Dreierwette
cackle -- Gegacker, Gekicher (auch als Verb)

aus: Community S02E16 -- Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking

Nurse: Mr. Hawthorne is ready to commence his bequeathings.
Troy: Shouldn’t you be telling that to an orderly?
Annie: He’s gonna give us gifts.
Troy: Oh, cool! I mean… Cool. I don’t want Pierce to die. But if I’m gonna get bequeathed upon, I’d like to be bequeathed a drum kit or a signed photo of actor LeVar Burton. Those would be my top two wishes. My third wish would be a million wishes. But I’d just use ‘em all on a million signed photos of actor LeVar Burton.

to bequeath -- hinterlassen, vererben

Weitere Begriffe:
to commence -- anfangen, beginnen, einleiten
orderly -- Krankenpfleger (hört man oft als männliche Form für nurse “A hospital attendant given a variety of non-medical duties.”

aus: The Big Bang Theory S04E16 -- The Cohabitation Formulation

Penny: Really, I am not upset about Leonard and Priya.
Amy: Oh. Then perhaps you don’t understand what’s going on. Your former boyfriend has replaced you with what appears to be a very suitable mate. Arguably much more suitable than you.
Penny: Oh. Well, good for him. Hey, what do you mean, “more suitable”?
Amy: Well, granted, Penny, your secondary sexual characteristics are reasonably bodacious. But Priya is highly educated, she’s an accomplished professional, and she comes from the culture that literally wrote the book on neat ways to have sex. Whereas you, on the other hand, are a community college dropout who comes from the culture that wrote the book on tipping cows.
Penny: Yeah. Okay, I got it.

bodacious -- toll, großartig, riesig, üppig

Weitere Begriffe:
former -- früher, ehemalig (Bsp.: The Artist formerly known as)
suitable -- geeignet, passend
mate -- Partner. Im Britischen auch “Kumpel”, Freund gleichen Geschlechts.

Homer: Sweetie, if your mother was in trouble they’d tell us as soon as they could.
Postman: Telegram!
Homer: D’oh! (reading) Marge is Mia? Oh my God, she changed her name.
Postman: No, that says she’s missing in action!

Wikipedia weiß da noch was schlaues zum täglichen Gebrauch: “MIA is sometimes used in American English to describe difficulty finding something, particularly a person. “The employee is MIA.” It is less often used in this context in UK English, where the equivalent phrase is “gone AWOL“”
